Northridge Skateland's Adult Night, Reunion XII scheduled for July 14'th, is already just a couple of weeks away.  This year's Skate Week should be awesome! General admission for Reunion XII will be $10 and skate rental is $5. The session will be for ages 16 and up. Valid ID is "REQUIRED". Additional details could be found lower on this page.

As you know, we recently lost one of our own; our beloved Jack Moss. Jack has been skating as long as I can remember. He could always be seen skating on Tuesday nights at Northridge Skateland. He skated right up prior to his 85'th birthday.  Part of Skate Week on Monday July 13'th at 5:00pm, we will be having the Rink Ratz Hall of Fame induction dinner honoring Jack Moss as the very first inductee. The award will be presented to Jack's family on his behalf. A head count of people is necessary for preparations. If you would like to be a part of this historic event, please send an email to:
rinkratzusa@yahoo.com ,  stating how many in your party will be attending. All are highly encouraged to attend and make this a spectacular event. I will need a head count by July 5'th for preparations. The event will be held at the Romano's Macaroni Grill in Northridge. We really appreciate and thank everyone for coming and being a part of this great tradition; especially for those of you that come from great distances. I am sure this year's event will be even better. All skaters are cordially invited to party with us at Denny's each and every Tuesday night after skating & after this years reunion as well. Can't wait to see you all at this year's Northridge Skateland Adult Night, Reunion XII. In the meantime, if anyone has an idea for a "Rink Ratz" activity, please let me know so we can put it together.

Tom & Beth will be kicking off Skate Week with their annual Summer Luau. It will be held on July 11'th, 2009. The party starts around noon and will last until 2am.  As always, it will be just as great as the previous one's. I'm even going to bang out some of my famous gourmet Pappy Burgers. They literally go right from the grill to peoples plates. And those were for the people fortunate enough to get them, as only a limited amount are made. For those of you that don't know about the Luau, it is a HUGE party that fellow Rink Ratz Tom & Beth have every year. The Luau has an overwhelming amout of activities for all age levels. It is very family friendly too. The property is quite large and overnight camping is welcome. Here are some of the activities you will see: 100' Slip n' Slide, Horseshoes, Electronic Darts, Pool Table, Volleyball, Bonfire, CD Juke Box, Ping Pong Table, Trampoline, Pinball Machines, Video Games, Skeeball, and much more. Also hamburgers, hotdogs, dips, chips and all sorts of snacks of all kinds, as well as sodas, juices, teas and water are provided.

The following day (Sunday July 12, 2009), marks the 2'nd event for Skate week. We will be having a Rink Ratz Magic Mountain trip. All are welcome. I have about 50,  ½ priced discount coupons. They will be given out on a first come / first requested basis.

To recap Skate Week's activities:

Saturday July 11'th - Luau 2009
Sunday July 12'th - Magic Mountain
Monday July 13'th - Hall of Fame dinner
Tuesday July 14'th - Reunion

If you have any question's about any of the activities or have any suggestion's, please contact Kathy Brening-Ray or myself. As you know, Kathy works very hard in the preparation for the Reunion. She is always very happy to help anyone that has questions; and so am I. As more details come in regarding Skate Week, I will be posting them here and sending out email notifications to all member's.

A very special thanks goes out to Beth Dickinson for her much appreciated computer skills. Beth helped create this year's reunion digital banner, as well as created the LUAU 2009 flyer. Beth is a well versed computer designer and I highly recommend that you contact her for all your computer design endevours. Beth can be reached at:  ladytypesetter@gmail.com .

If you're looking to try something new, check out the monthly Space Roller Disco. It's held every 4'th Saturday of the month. As always, it's gonna' be a great event. If you’ve read my past reviews on the Roller Disco, you know it’s going to be a KICK-ASS event. Too many Afro wigs, glittered shirts, bell bottom pants and rainbow stockings to even count (ahhh, the 70's).

DJ Dennis & DJ Riley More will be on fire playing the most excellent mix of disco music. No, not that digital crap; they go "Old School" and hit us with the classic "vinyl". Yep, you heard me right. They will be spinning discs. For all you baby boomers, that means they will be playing and mixing actual vinyl records (LP's). And they most definitely kick ass! They will have that rink poppin'! Bonnie is the manager there and he's a great guy. You can also check out his collection of vintage roller skates and vintage cell phones.
